Q: Is it possible to adopt children with dwarfism?
A: Yes. Children are available for adoption both within the United States and abroad. There are no shortcuts, however. Adopting a child with a form of dwarfism is every bit as challenging and arduous a process as adopting an average-stature child.
Understanding Dwarfism is a program dedicated to changing the world’s perception of a group of people who throughout history have been miss understood and stigmatized because of their profound short stature.
Our hopes are that through education, understanding and awareness people will begin to see persons with dwarfism for their positive contributions to society - equally capable and deserving of a life free of stereotypes and equal to that of any other.
