Here is a little about us…. Our family (The Roloff Family) includes my wife Amy, our sons Jeremy, Zachary, Jacob, and our daughter Molly and me Matt, the Dad. I have a type of dwarfism called Diastophic Dysplasia and my wife has a type of dwarfism called Achondroplasia. Two of our children, Jeremy and Zachary are twins. Jeremy is average height and Zachary has the same type of dwarfism as Amy. While the oldest boys are twins (and both enjoy some of the same things) their height is not the only thing that sets them apart. Jeremy loves and is working in photography while Zachary is following his love of sports (specifically Soccer). Our daughter Molly is of average height and is currently pursuing her education abroad. Our youngest son Jacob is also of average height and remains living at home while he finishes High School.
Amy and I purchased our 34 acre farm in May, 1990. Nestled between rolling hills and farms just outside of Portland, Oregon, the property consisted of a beat up old farmhouse, a broken down barn and an overgrown peach orchard. We set out to make our dream come true. We envisioned a working farm, but also a magical place for our children. During the early years we built a Tom-Sawyer-like adventure land with a huge pirate ship, a three-story tree fort and a marvelous Western Town (complete with underground tunnels)! Later we added a soccer field, in ground pool, and more imaginative play structures. Today, Roloff Farm is a successful agricultural business, event center, and major tourist destination during pumpkin season.
Our family has been featured on the television docu-series "Little People Big World" on TLC for over 8 years and continues to film today. Our story is about how an un-ordinary family lives an overall ordinary life! The episodes cover just about everything from growing up on their Oregon farm, to school, relationships and most specifically educating the World on Dwarfism.
