CAMENGA RACE TEAM - WORKING TOGETHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The Camenga family has had a long standing tradtion of dirt racing across the Northeast. Wade(father) and Carl Camenga(Grandfather) began racing in the Midstate Antique Stock Car Club throughout the 1990’s. They traveled the northeast posting many top five finishes and wins. Dana Camenga (son of Wade Camenga) began racing street stocks in 2002 and quickly found success posting numerous top 5 and ten finishes in tracks in central New York.
Camenga Racing reemerged in 2012 with a new car and took a different approach to racing. We reached out to two not –for-profit organizations that the family is associated with; Understanding Dwarfism and LPA Mohawk Valley Chapter. Northeast dirt racing has always been seen as a hobby, but we wanted our racing program to mean more. We used our love for racing and our race car as a platform for Dwarfism Awareness. It was here that Camenga Racing “Race for a Cause” was developed. Since 2012 our show car has traveled across New York State from Syracuse, to Saratoga, to Orchard Beach in the Bronx and many points in between. The family has traveled to 15 different venues for special appearances in an effort to spread Dwarfism Awareness. Along the way we have sold merchandise such as bracelets, t-shirts, stickers, and raffled baskets to help support the two organizations.
As we enter our third year of competition with our “Race for a Cause” campaign, Camenga Racing will continue to reach new racers, fans, and businesses in an effort to spread Dwarfism Awareness. We are thankful and honored to share our talents of racing, a sport we love, to support organizations such as Understanding Dwarfism and LPA Mohawk Valley Chapter. Camenga Racing looks forward to a long lasting partnership to benefit Seamus Camenga (son of Devon Camenga), members of the LPA community, and the general public.
